Akron Thermal, L.P. provides steam heat to more than 17 million square feet of building space in downtown Akron, Ohio. Customers include Akron Children's Hospital, Akron General Hospital, Summa Hospital and the University of Akron. Akron Thermal operates two plants. One includes three boilers that can operate on natural gas, woodwaste or wood chips. A second boiler plant can operate on coal or natural gas.
