QUALITY ENGINEER

OVERVIEW

Develop and operate quality control systems, application and analysis of testing and inspection procedures, use of metrology and statistical methods to diagnose and correct improper quality control practices, audit quality system for deficiency and correction, develop and administer quality related management information systems, and apply quality cost concepts and techniques.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for reading and interpreting drawings, standards, and procedures. Responsible for developing methods, processes, and procedures with recommendations and justifications for reducing failure cost. Will be responsible for efficient use of raw materials to include scrap reduction and monitoring of systems.


BEST EXPERIENCE

Prefer someone from the AUTOMOTIVE, AEROSPACE or HVAC Industry who has experience in metals; copper or aluminum. ISO certification experience (particularly ISO 9001) and adaptability to working with team/cell concepts. Minimum 3 years experience as a Quality Engineering in a high volume environment.


REQUIREMENTS

> BS Engineering, Technical or Related Field, Six Sigma Certification a plus. Heat Transfer a plus.
> A minimum of 3-5 years of Quality manufacturing analysis / problem solving, i.e. root cause analysis, problem resolution, Paretos, and data analysis.
> Must be able to gather data, define problems and carry out investigations for their resolution with a minimum of supervision.
> Must be able to interpret and evaluate various computer costs of quality programs and reach conclusions on positive action cost reduction programs
> Must be PC savvy to develop and maintain spreadsheets and familiarity with project software.
> Must have basic knowledge of cost of quality software programs, such as control charts, capability studies, etc.
> Must have concise written and oral communication skills and above average organizational and problem-solving skills.
> Other skills required include TQM tools, SPC, FMEAs, Capability Studies, Control Plans, ISO 9001.
> Strongly prefer someone from Mississippi or the surrounding states or with existing strong ties to the area.
