Job Description

 
 
Job Objective
 
The President/GM role is a key member of the Senior Management team and reports directly to the CEO.  This newly created position oversees the company’s entire operation which includes finance, operations, planning, estimating, and administration. This individual must provide strong guidance and hands-on leadership to all areas of the organization. 
  
Essential Functions of the Position:
 
Strategic Planning and Direction
  • Leadership of overall strategic direction and vision for the organization.
  • Responsible for annual strategic and business plan.
 
Marketing and Relationship Management
  • Relationship management with key clients and CEO/GM level.
  • Identify targeted business opportunities within strategic markets and develop plans to market clients and secure business.
  • Maintain company visibility and leadership in various associations and organizations (i.e. Mechanical Contractor Association, Builders Exchange).
 
Operational Management and Oversight (in conjunction with Operations Manager)
  • Assign new bid opportunities to estimating team, review strategies, and close out larger bids.
  • Assign new projects to Project Management staff.
  • Ongoing coaching and assistance to Project Management staff and allocation of support staff as needed for project workloads.
  • Risk Management of significant issues on major projects.
  • Monthly project reviews with Project Management staff.
  • Monitor and course correct for operational departments through budget or schedule processes.
  • Coordinate divisional needs with Corporate office in the areas of IT, Human Resources, Safety, and Accounting.
  • Assess staffing needs and plan for expansion/contraction.
  • Develop personnel review and development plans.
 
Finance
  • Responsible for monthly P&L assembly, cash flow analysis and management.
   

The Candidate

 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced degree(s) and/or related certifications preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in Project Management, Construction, Operations, Estimating, Project Planning, Finance and/or other related functions.
  • Construction or Mechanical related experience a significant plus.
  • Possess problem-solving, collaboration, critical thinking, team building, and presentation skills.
  • Display leadership and coaching skills, driving employee commitment through actions, and empowering employees to reach their full potential.
  • Strategic thinker with skills to develop a vision for the organization based on market and abilities.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex projects required. 
  • Strong communication, decision-making, leadership and negotiation skills required.
  • High-energy with the ability to motivate employees and promote a strong team atmosphere.
