PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

JOB OVERVIEW
Perform as a pro-active leader to provide support and direction to a work team; including leading, motivating and training to achieve production results and enhance teamwork.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for Cost Center Productivity, Safety, Quality, Cost, and Employee Performance. Work towards continuous improvements while sustaining effective employee relationships; utilization and implementation of lean techniques to manage employees, equipment and materials to accomplish organizational goals.
REQUIREMENTS
> AA /AS or BA/BS degree (preferred) and 3-5 years direct industry experience
> Operations Management experience
> Must be knowledgeable of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and 5S
> Ability to read financial reports, interpret graphs/analyze data, make succinct formal presentations, pc proficiency, team-building and communication skills
> Best industry experience will be from HVAC, Appliances, Lawn & Garden Equipment or Metals working in a process flow environment - Copper or Aluminum.
> Local Candidates strongly preferred but may consider others from the surrounding states
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Cost Center Safety, Quality and Productivity Performance
+ Coordinate training initiatives for the work team
+ Coaching, guidance and disciplinary measures as needed
+ Conduct Performance Evaluations
+ Assess and recommend staffing requirements
+ Operate within expense budget
+ Daily scheduling and effective resource allocation
+ Conducting productive and informative team meetings
+ Completing accurate and timely paperwork
+ Lead process improvement initiatives; across shifts when necessary
+ Monitor work team progress in Safety, Quality, Cost, Productivity and Employee Performance
+ Develop/execute improvement plans as required
+ Project Management assignments
+ Implement Lean Manufacturing techniques to improve work place organization, housekeeping and throughput
+ Reduce scrap, rework and warranty costs.
+ Resolve issues by analyzing data, investigation and identifying and recommending solutions
+ Keep skills current by acquiring professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, trade publications, through books, personal networking, etc.
+ Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operation practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements
+ Keep Operations Manager informed of significant problems that jeopardize the achievement of objectives
+ Ensure operations area complies with EPA, OSHA, EEOC and other government regulatory agencies
+ Provide visible and quantitative support for Lean Manufacturing Techniques, ISO and quality initiative
